Where Teams Matter Again
Inspired by the Man Who Taught Me How to Love the Game
Team Fantasy Sports was born from a simple Sunday morning ritual I shared with my dad, Thomas M. Connor — the man, the myth, and the legend who shaped the way I see sports and life. Every week, long before fantasy football became a maze of player stats and endless injury alerts, we drafted teams straight from the newspaper. No point spreads. No player juggling. No complicated scoring formulas.
Those mornings — from the mid-80s to late-90s — were when I fell deeply in love with the sport. Back when fans cheered for their teams, not individual running backs or tight ends in a fantasy lineup.
But as the fantasy world grew, something shifted. I'd walk into a bar and see people cheering for both teams on the field because they had individual players on each.
It didn't feel like football anymore.
It didn't feel like loyalty.
It didn't feel like the universe was aligned.
Fast-forward a few years. I was in four fantasy leagues, spending more time checking other men's stats than spending time with my own kids or significant other. Injuries, matchups, COVID scratches, waiver wire stress — the joy was gone.
Even winning felt like work.
That's when I knew something had to change. I wanted my love for the game back. I wanted the simplicity I had with my dad. And I wanted to cheer for the shield on the helmet — not the player on my roster.
So I pitched a new idea to my fantasy buddies:
"Let's draft TEAMS instead of players."
One raised eyebrow later… we were off.
We drafted teams.
We tracked wins.
We kept score on paper.
We ran it the entire season — even for the NBA.
And everyone loved it.
A simple Google Sheet turned into a basic website… which evolved into the full platform you're using today.
Team Fantasy Sports began with our flagship Team Drafting Game, but we didn't stop there. We expanded that same team-first philosophy into a full lineup of contests built around team outcomes, not individual stats.
Reimagined around team scoring.
Fast, simple, team-based picks.
Rank your trust in each team from highest confidence to lowest.
Pick one team per week; win and survive another round.
Build your perfect bracket and let the teams tell the story.
The original game — pick teams, not players.
And this is only the beginning.
We're actively developing new team-based games and contest formats to continue our mission:
Bringing fans back to cheering for teams, rivalries, traditions, and the pure heart of the sport — not stat-chasing.
Team Fantasy Sports is here to restore what sports used to feel like:
For everyone — for families, friends, bars, leagues, and the next generation of fans.
My father passed away more than 20 years ago. He wasn't my biological father — he was my stepdad — but he was the man who cared for me, guided me, and helped pull me from living out of my car to becoming the man I am today.
I never got to truly thank him for all he did.
But this… this platform… this game… this return to real fandom… is my way of honoring him.
Every time someone picks a team… every time someone plays one of our contests… every time a family sits together cheering on the same side…
It brings me back to those Sunday mornings with him.
So from my family to yours, I hope these games give you the same joy they once gave us.
Team Fantasy Sports — where teams matter, memories matter, and the game finally feels right again.
Enjoy responsibly.
